One Hour Festive Card Workshop

The Lightbox Gallery is holding it's annual Festive craft fair on Thursday 27th November 5-8pm. There will be free entry to the gallery, including all exhibitions alongside festive stalls and refreshments to buy. I'm delighted to be taking part offering one hour linocut card making workshops. Linocut is an incredibly versatile medium, perfect for creating stamps and quick line drawing designs. You will be introduced to the basics of linocut printmaking, create and carve your own design and print several unique festive cards to take away with you. What to expect: You will be guided through the process of transferring a design to lino, carving and then printing it. There will be some ready-carved festive lino shapes available for all to use which you may like to incorporate into your design. We will be printing by hand burnishing and there will be one small relief press available to share. All inks, lino, cards and other equipment is provided. You will leave with several cards and any lino shapes you have carved yourself. What to bring: An apron or old shirt is useful to protect clothes as we will be using oil-based inks but not essential. The sessions will be held in the studio on level 1. This workshop is suitable for over 18’s Members can use the code FESTIVE for a £2 discount; proof of membership will be required on the day.
