As with all my prints 'Winter Westerly' is set in a real place. The original sketch (pictured) was done at a popular spot in the Swinley Forest by the pill boxes in an area called Bagshot Heath. It is on top of a hill, overlooked by a huge communications mast. The area is relatively clear but features lots of immature silver birch trees, heather, bracken and grasses.
The print is on beautiful Japanese kitakata paper from the Awagami Factory. It is very thin but incredibly strong due to the long fibres. The paper features a deckled edge and I would recommend float mounting it to show off this gorgeous feature.
