Reduction Linocut

Limited edition of 10 prints
This was the demonstration print I made during RHS Wisley Craft and Design fair over the early May bank holiday weekend. The first layer was printed in my studio so I demonstrated the next 5 layers over the five days, inking and printing in the morning and cutting the lino for the next layer in the afternoons. The final two layers were completed back in the studio making a total of 8 layers. You can see each layer in the photographs, alongside the single piece of lino all these prints were made from, which has been reduced with each layer.
The subject is the marshes viewed from a high point on the beach at Salthouse, Norfolk. An edition of 10 is being released for sale but a further 5 prints which differ slightly from the main edition are to be incorporated into a large (7x2m) collage exploring the Isle of Dogs. This will be exhibited at Clifford Chance HQ in Canary Wharf as part of the UAL/Clifford Chance Sculpture Award 2025 which I am delighted to have won.
This is a traditional one plate reduction linocut. The same plate was used to print the whole edition.
My prints are all made by hand, each layer of each print is individually inked and pressed therefore there are individual variations within each edition. Every print is a unique and orginial work of art.
