FRAMED Prevailing Wind

Part of a series inspired by standing on the highest dune, right above the beach at Winterton-on-Sea looking back over the land, then turning towards the sea. In one direction you're likely to be blinded by sad being blown in your face, in the other your hair will be whipping your cheeks! The prevailing wind seems to be 'strong' and either up the beach or down it.
Thoughts of impermanence, flux and constant change in the landscape alongside the permanence of historic habitats and the species who depend upon it stretching back through time are juxtaposed in these works. This is a landscape is a place that very much feels like it belongs to itself first.
This work is framed in charcoal by Alastair Smithers Framing.
