As with all my prints 'Winter Westerly' is set in a real place. The original sketch (pictured) was done at a popular spot in the Swinley Forest by the pill boxes in an area called Bagshot Heath.  It is on top of a hill, overlooked by a huge communications mast.  The area is relatively clear but features lots of immature silver birch trees, heather, bracken and grasses.

Test print 4 has a slight mark where the paper touched the lino in ever-so-slightly the wrong place above the tree, a ghost of a grey mark between the tree and the cloud and a crease mark along the cloud (which actually gives the cloud a bit more character!).

There is a picture of one of the editioned prints included for comparison and to show the deckled edge of the paper.
